WEEK I. June 7 through 11, 2010 Developmental Play. The Puppetmongers lead an exploration of the many arts involved in puppetry: Mornings are devoted to learning the basics of making and working with glove puppets, rod puppets, marionettes, table top figure and shadows; afternoons are an exploration of puppetry as a branch of theatre, a collaborative, visual, multi-media art-form. Each day features a guest artist who will expand your skills and connect them back into puppetry. WEEK II. June 14 through 18, 2010Play Development. Join the Puppetmongers and a guest director in the creation of a puppet production. In this week we integrate the ideas of week I as we engage in collaborative theatre-making from the ground up. We dive into the process of brainstorming, story-boarding, construction, character development and scene creation, culminating in a performance for a small audience on the final day. Fees: Both weeks $800, or one week $450 |
